how to become a

patient in Mississippi

step one

step two

Patient sees physician, nurse practitioner, or optometrist in person.

 

A determination is made that the patient has a qualifying condition that would benefit from the use of medical cannabis. Practitioner completes medical certification for the medical cannabis program for the patient. Certification is not a prescription.

step three

Within 60 days of medical certification, patient submits application to participate in the medical cannabis program.

 

Patient completes application to participate in the program and receive an identification card.

step four

Patient receives electronic identification card for time period specified by certifying practitioner or a maximum of one year.

 

Receipt of Patient Identification Card.

step five

Patient selects licensed dispensary to purchase medical cannabis.

 

Patient Purchases from Licensed Dispensary.

Patient has

medical complaint.

 

Schedules visit with physician, nurse practitioner, or optometrist participating in the medical cannabis program.
